ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My work focuses on the representation of human consciousness and its abstract processes. What it is made of, its dynamics and how it develops are the main questions of my research. Trees and owls illustrate different states of mind; precise but uncertain lines describe the space of possible mental landscapes.
I use a great deal of white as a background for such a mysterious subject. The surfaces I work on tend to become highly textured and irregular as a result of many layers of crayons and pigments mixed with oil colours. I use drawings to explore and develop concepts for installations.
The main inspirations for my work are the sacred scriptures, texts on matriarcal cultures by Göttner-Abendroth, and poetry from Sappho to Mallarmé, Amelia Rosselli to Cecilia Meirelles, and Clarice Lispector.
